Ive been looking at setting up a dodger on my DE38, but I've noticed that my boom seems to be only about 24 inches above the top of the companion way. Can anyone tell me if this is the "normal" height for the boom on a DE 38?

That sounds a little low. I would say it should be closer to 36 inches or a hair farther from top of cabin. I would have to measure but I seem to remember it  hitting me about waist high  when standing on the cabin top. maybe a bit higher.
