does anyone have a set of storm sails for there DE 32? I am planning on a 3 month adventure from Maine to PEI and back. I was thinking it would be good to have a set on board. Even if it is a spare sail.... I would be interested in buying one or knowing the dimetions of other boaters sails.

I do have 3 reefs in my main and one in my staysail so I could use them but I wouldnt want to blow them out and be stuck with useless sails.

You will not use the jib in  a storm but the staysail, on valkyr the staysail actually has a reef in it.

A storm trysail on a track beside the mainsail is always a recommended configuration. The pardeys book Storm Tactics is a good reference.

Not sure if or when youre planning your trip but I'll take some measuements when I get home of what i have.

As you make your way past Halifax, Nova Scotia then stop into Armdale yacht club. Ask for me, Dylan Scratch, most everyone at the club knows me as just Scratch! And our boat, Orion, is the only DE32 around. Armdale is by far the best club to stop over at. More of a working mans yacht club where there is always someone more than willing to catch a line or haul you up the mast. They're sometime sticklers about fees for tying up but like many clubs, the admin folks aren't the sailors we are.

It's hit or miss if I'll be around as I work offshore half my life, but worst case, I can put you in touch with a few people at the club who would love to give you a lift to the groceries (beer) store or wherever you may need to go. Great bunch of people there.

I am interested in obtaining a storm sail for my DE 32, Dolphin cutter rigged, ported in Homer, Alaska. We have need for a storm Sail.

If someone does not have one for sell, would be interested in dimensions needed.

No worries travis, you can leave contact info here as far as I am concerned. The only thing to be aware of is that it is a public forum that it will be on and anyone can see it. 🙂 probably no that big of a deal but just sayin 🙂 I have left mine all over the site in once place or another 🙂
