All:

Any suggestions on where to fasten my running back stays? I had a couple spots back close to the stern rail but the new mizzen traveler went there and they didn't allow any movement for the boom at all meaning whenever they were set, they would have to be moved for the next tack. I was hoping someone had figured out where to put them so you could make at least close hauled tacks without moving them each time. When we were restepping the masts, the rigger suggested I attached them to the davit bases I had installed in the corner where the side rail caps meet the stern rail cap. Only problem I see is that means my bimini will be pretty short to stay ahead of the running backs when they're set.

He also suggested I put them on the ends of the dingy davits to help with the weight which is a fine idea but they're not going to stay there except when the dingy is hung which won't be when we're in the yard.

Suggestions?

Where to anchor the mizzen running back stays that will be out of the way to the greatest extent possible?

While we're on the subject, how often does everyone set them? Over 18? Over 25?

Thanks!

Rick
