For djstreltd....
Sir,
I really dislike spammers. I would not have been ok with one of our real members doing more than a simple link back to a non DE related business they owned after checking if it was ok. For you to sign up for the simple purpose of spamming our site, is down right nasty. I can deduce that this was your intent as you did not introduce yourself, you did not mention that you own a DE or are looking to buy a DE or that you love sailing and just think that DE's are cool boats. No, the first and only thing you posted is a full page listing of stuff for sale from your music store. Luckly for you I have more important things to do than show you the error of your ways past telling you why I deleted your post and then deleted your user account. If I was feeling particularly evil I could track your store, who owns it, find your email addresses and make sure you get signed up for a gazillion spam lists, then we could attend to your real mailing address and see how much junk mail we could have delivered to your street address and PO box if you have one.
So the other members and I would love to see an apology, You can mail one to me the webmaster and I will post it for you. Other than that please have a good day somewhere else.
Thank you,
The Webmaster
yep you are outahere!!!
darn..
very first person to get banned. Talk about blatant spam.
That felt pretty good to write. With the volume of email I have to deal with everyday and the number of websites I deal with, spam has become a major issue. It sucks up a lot of resources and time dealing with it, both of which I have a ever smaller amount of. I know of a group of people that actually did the above scenario to a major UK based spammer. The guy was crying big time by the time the postal service was delivering up to 1 ton of mail per day to his home address. He couldn't find any of the mail that he needed to and the postal service told him that they had to deliver everything addressed to him by law. 🙂
sort of a case of poetic justice.
