When I bought my DE45 it had no trailboards on the bow. Can anyone please help me to either buy a pair or make them. I wonder if anyone has a mould, so we could cast a pair in glassfibre. They certainly do set the bow off on these boats.

my DE38 also had no trailboards on the bow.
I wonder if they are of same size. Would be very interested to get a pair as well.
Hopefully somebody has a mold and can help out to have some made up ?

If you guys don't find something sooner whenever I get around to working on mine I would be glad to pull molds of them with one of the plastic mold making products. I would just get you to send me the mold stuff and then pay shipping to you. however it could be this year could be in a couple years. It's pretty low on my priority list of things to get to so far. Your a lot more likely to bump into another owner in that time frame and do it yourself.. I would think that you could make some yourself if you didn't worry about the pattern being stock or just get someone that makes them to do a set for you. There has got to be a way of taking some fiberglass and laying it up 1/8 inch thick in the size needed on the hull and then popping it free and building up your pattern on it or gluing foam and cutting it away in the pattern you want. Maybe paint it with epoxy a few times and then paint it and then screw it back down.. it would be a simple way to do it. Use high density open cell foam and then saturate it with epoxy so that it will soak in through it and make the whole thing stronger and ridged. Maybe closed cell high density foam.. that would carve like wood I think or you could use a small router and a cutout template to do your relief with.. 🙂 or just put some rubber cut out in the right patter and then sand blast it like you would do a sign. Actually that would be really easy wouldn't it.

I am thinking of having them Trailboards carved from our local Mahogany, in a fancy smanchy way.
Will let you know how it goes.

sorry to say i can't help much except to say that the ones that came on pegasus [de45schooner] failed about 10 yrs ago and i was fortunate to be in mazatlan at the time where a great fiberglass shop was able to mold my old ones and make new ones. the replacements required mods before fitting because the old ones were in pieces when removed. still looking good.
a year later the same shop made pegasus replacement water and fuel tanks on the port side [both developed leaks over the summer, strange timing]. required major sugery of course. the new tanks were built inside the shells [top and baffles removed] of the old tanks.
