I think my old wood block with bronze sheaves May be original but the woods starting to go..what I have is a single block to a double block hanging on the boom, then to a single block with a becket. The blocks on deck are on twist shackles. I’m going to replace them I was looking at garhauer blocks. I was wondering if anyone has went with stand up blocks and eliminated the twist shackles? Seems like it would work a little better, however the twist shackles have worked fine aswell.

I don't think so.. didn't even think of it at the time as the old ones were not.. I don't think it was ever and issue that I can recall. I can see the utility in them though. Most of the time those blocks are under tension so they stand anyway.
