Found a DE38 with no stanchions or lifelines.....how universal are the stanchions or is this going to require a bunch of modification to fix this problem??

Thanks Kevin

I have seen at least Three different styles on different DE's.. one where there is a fiberglass socket molded into the hull that a stanchion drops into. One that has a plate on the bottom of the stanchion and it bolts down through the cap rail and third one that has a plate welded to the side of the bottom of the stanchion and bolts to the side of the gunnel below the cap rail on the inside. Any one of them you should be able to find a approximate product already made if not the exact bolt pattern.

You will probably need to re-rig your lifelines custom for the boat.  For whatever it's worth, I did mine with the Johnson Marine fittings for Dyneema lifelines and did mine in quarter inch Amsteel Blue.  It took me a weekend on the boat fabricating the lifelines.  When all said and done it cost me around $500 but I also went for the top shelf parts.

I think I posted the lifelines in another thread.  But here's the result again.  I didn't Brummel lock the spices, but set them with some whipping and taped over the whippings with Rigger's Tape.
