I wanted to solicit some new sailing stories and articles on working on your boats from everyone. Right now we have a few different authors represented on the front page such as Erick of Windsong, Jason of Bodhran, Bob of Eolian, and the crew of Blue Sky. I want to encourage the rest of you to send something in. A cool story about somewhere you went or a great day sailing to encourage the rest of us to get out there sailing 🙂 or a article about a project on your boat to help those of working on our boats now or maybe a story about how things went wrong and how you got through it to help the rest of use learn how to get through a similar situation or to avoid it entirely.
Check out the front page over the next week or so to read about Erick's experience with running aground (I had to add a comment also and throw in an experience we had on Valkier last year when we did it twice in a row.. check out the comment under Erics story) We are also in a couple weeks going to have up a old story from s/v Blue Sky from back in 2006 when they made the jump from Mexico to the Marquisas. Sometime in about a week we will be story from Jason on Bodhran talking about putting Bohdran back in the water after hauling her out and a little blurb on putting in a reinforcement to the compression post and mast step.
You can email me your story and pictures or give me a link to where you have already posted it on the web somewhere. I have several members that have given me permission to copy interesting posts from their websites or blogs anytime. I always put a link back to their websites to encourage people to visit their sites. If you would like to do an arrangement like that just let me know. Other members that don't wish to give unlimited permission for me to copy off of their websites send something in once in a while on their own or when I solicit a story from them. We are ready for a new round of stories and writeups to go on the front page. It's been about 3 or 4 months since I solicited the last round of them and they have been coming out one every few days up till the middle of march. I just copied one of Eric's Windsong blogs up on the front page but we need at least eight or nine more write ups so we can scheadule some stories for the next couple months. Come one come all... your new or old stories are requested 🙂

It's creeping up on that time again. I think there is one more story in the que for the 26th and then we are out. So here is the next call for some write ups of projects, voyages and other such stuff 🙂

Just that time of the year... We have had a slow fall for stories on the front page of the site. Over the end of December I have rounded up a few things that should keep everyone entertained through the beginning of February but we are back to needing people to submit some stories, share a project or something similar if possible. If you have current stuff you have already posted on your own blogs and are willing to share here just let me know. You will notice a few authors of stuff that pops up on a regular basis and they either send stuff in on a regular basis or have given permission for me to freely use stuff off their websites that is DE related. If I do use something you submit or let me copy off your site you will get full credit for having written it as well as a link back to your website in every article you submit. Hopefully for those that have shared this has driven a lot of traffic to your websites. Also for those that have websites about their boats or voyages and aren't referanced with a link back to your site from the links page please let me know and send me the link to your website and I will post it. you can find the links page at http://downeasteryachts.com/links
Sad to say I haven't had much to say myself lately. We got to Valkyr today for the first time in two months. She was practically crying to see us... or is that we were crying to see her. Between the holidays, both of us having caught the winter crud in early December and general life and 3rd trimester pregnancy we have been doing everything but boat stuff.

Hmmm.. I will have to go back and see what I have written. I think I might have a couple more little projects I could write up if I took some pictures of them.
