Quite possibly the coolest accessory for a boat ever invented and everyone should have at least one.
Used a $20 Nylon mesh hammock (150-200 lbs max, folds up as big as a fist). Both ends have a stainless steel ring with poly lanyard.
Drop the staysail boom to make room on the foredeck.
Did not want to use the stays for rigging this, didn't like the look of loading them in such a direction.
One end has the ring slipped over a cleat at the mast.
Other end is rigged with three lines to the steel ring: staysail halyard clipped to steel ring for vertical position, poly lanyard to pulpit rail (which stresses the rail in the "supported"-direction), and third line from chainplate base to steel ring. The third line is only for side-to-side stability (i.e. swinging too far and getting dumped over the rail)
In this setup there's very little swing and great vertical stability. Bring a pillow, sunglasses and a hat! \8-D
