What you don't see is how I came 6" from ramming the bowsprit into a concrete pylon....

I know what that's like (coming close to drifting into it then just missing the pylon). I keep thinking I need to lash some fenders to the bow pulpit.

Yeah, well ended up taking her out again and I managed to hit the pulpit against the concrete pylon.  I was at the helm and my girlfriend was at the pulpit.  Between her pushing the boat away and full reverse, we just glanced it with no damage.

Heh.... been there done that many a time in my different boats.. so far so good and never done more than just a scratch... 🙂 knock on wood.. I have to admit it was a lot less heart stopping in my 3500 lb beneteau than my 20,000 lb downeaster 🙂
