Welcome

Be sure and send Scott your Info so he can update the Owners list....

Scappare sure sounds familiar to me..... seems I found a treasure trove of pictures on flickr of her sailing in Thailand...

I'll check that and give you a link if it is indeed her, and if you do not know about them already.

Scott's web sight has provided me a wealth of information.... and still is.

Have Fun

Bob

Welcome Helmuth,

There's a lot of information here and if you can't find something you're curious about, just post a question. There are just a few folks that peruse this place on a semi-regular basis, but everyone is really helpful. You'll find most DE owners are pretty handy folks, you have to be with "good old boats" like these. Right now we're thawing out here in the Northeast so it's boat work season (when is it not boat work season??) so even regulars might be busy at the boat yard and not so quick to check any forums, but we'll make it back around here eventually. 🙂

Did you re-name the boat from Scappare to Festina-Lente? Do you know what year your boat was built, or her hull number? Just curious…

Hello Argyle,

thank you for your welcome. I love this DE-site !!! So much good info and great help.
I purchased Scappare last month here in Subic Bay Yacht Club Philippines,- and in the middle of a "tidying up" [Image Can Not Be Found].
My finance minister (wife) is breathing down my neck already.... oh well[Image Can Not Be Found]

Scappare was build in 1978 as the 167 vessel I believe.
Her hull number is  01678-381 and she has her original brass identification plate in the salon.
Yes, her new name is going to be FESTINA-LENTE.  Have to get it right though with the renaming ceremony etc.

Middle of May I am planning to sail her to her new home port Puerto Galera, which is a island called Mindoro in the Philippines. Not much fond of uptight yacht Club show off's and mooring queens at her present location....

Was looking for a very long time to find a "good old boat" as you say. Not much into the fantastic plastic look.
We have at the moment 37C and it is pretty unbearable, send me some cold wind from your end of the world.

Looking forward hearing more from you.

All the best
Helmuth
