Hello Nigel
I am the current owner of a 41 pilothouse and I couldn't be happier with the boat. There is currently a 41 for sail in San Diego and you can access it pictures through YACHTWORLD and do a search for downeaster 41. He has a nice bunch of photos.

I saw your boat last year befor Scott ever posted links
not sure how he is running this place but it took an act of God to pass 7 spam filters using a cellphone
and registering 3 times because my other accounts were locked for no apparent reason
I researched this boat up and down and found nothing besides your boat
You are literally one of a handful to
have a pilothouse de41 like mine
as they were some of the last boats produced by the factory according to year
and number
I even considered shooting you an offer
because your boat is everything I wanted
but I bought this one for 25,000
considering there is a 45 for 88k nearby and a 38 for 50k and a 32 de for 40k
other boat owners and individuals I've met are already acting jealous, angry or worse
that I scored such a deal,
better yet no loans and my own terms
and I wrote my own lease to own agreement and had it notarized
i spent 12 hours today removing a entire dumpsters worth of random crap from the boat
And steam cleaning
Now I have a boat to mount my solar panels on
Half my things are on board now land about to move out of the small house I have onto the de41

sounds like a great deal. I have always like pilothouse boats as liveaboards.
I hope so, I just bought one.
The upper salon area will be a great place to setup my laptops so I can work from the boat. I still have to figure out mounting maybe 3 28' monitors that can swing away so I can work, then stow 2 of them away. Had thought about something that swings down from the salon ceiling but will have to figure that one out a bit better.
I created the geeking forum and moved all the posts involving computers and stuff we were talking about over there.
Nice just leave this one here for my boat because I want to document my retrofit
Im installing radar at the moment 1622 furuno brand new old stock
friends grandpa bought it and upgraded the software and put it in the box at his house before he sold the boat and moved to Panama
pretty easy install even if it's old green screen
