What's has happened to the calendar on this forum?

My last visit was in 1925!

Most of the posts are timed in seconds not days.

Gremlins are at work here....

had a post I was adding in reply to this and fixed the clock while doing it. when I fixed the clock it caused me to be logged out of forum/website and lost my post I was writing in.

short version is I fixed it.

longish version is that I'm not sure why it did that so am not sure if it will hold long term. OS and software the site is running on is currently maybe 15 or 20ish years out of date. We locked it down so no one has ever been able to  compromise it but its been pretty static. However its at the point that we can no longer upgrade the wordpress or forum plugin the OS, apache and php are upgraded.

last time i did a major upgrade it wasn't the OS or software that got upgraded, instead I moved it from the old hardware it was running on to faster hardware (old pc to a 4cpu 40 core Dell server that I was able to colocate it on.) 🙂 we got a very major bump in performance.

The hardware clock is actually showing the correct time but the OS got out of sync or something reset.. not sure. The hardware clock is actually software as the system is virtualized so added layer of complexity. Just let me know if it happens again and I will fix it. However it most likely will be a while before I do what needs doing and upgrade or move website to newer OS. Lots of complexity either way I do it with potential of lots of breakage I would have to fix in migrating it that many OS and software versions. Another issue is the forum plugin for the website. they moved it quite a few years ago from a free to a pay for plugin.. I payed for it last time I updated it, but it has been a while and they have changed their pricing model again. Last time I upgraded from old free version I had to pay a one time fee for several of the features we use in the forums to keep using them. Now they have an annual subscription model that will cost several hundred dollars a year to keep using features we are currently using like uploading of media to posts or the private messaging system etc.. etc.. I have no interest in managing an annual subscription just for the forum. at some point I will try and figure out if we can migrate what we have to a different opensource forum. (:

Life is busy/crazy and it is very low down on my priority list.

I really am sorry to bother you with this Scott.  It's obviously quite complex and hardly worth a lot of time.

You have fixed some of the issues already.  I am still in a time warp of 90 some years, but that makes me much younger so I'm not complaining!!!

Take care of your real issues!!  By the way, I will kick in a bit to help with the costs you mention.  Maybe a one time appeal would be warranted.Cool

no worries... every once in a while I solicit a voluntary donation to help out.. I've been busy with other stuff and not spending a lot of time on the site so haven't bothered for a while. Whenever I get around to upgrading stuff I might do that again.
