After a fairly aggressive session with the power washer yesterday,I noticed that I have a fairly pronounced leak somewhere between my big window and the first portlight on the starboard side. I strongly suspect that it's coming from the scupper system. Does anyone know how to access this? Or,if it's a real problem, can I just seal off the deck drain with a fiberglass job and cut a slot in the gunnel like most other boats have as suppers?

That doesn't sound right. On our boat the first scupper is located between the two big windows in the cabin. To access it you have to go behind the panel on the starboard side of the chart table or on portside you access it behind the port cabinets behind the stove.  It should pull out or hinge out depending on how your boat was finished. Forward of that could be stanchions, deck hardware that might let water get in overhead and drain on starboard etc.. We had a leak that was hard to track down like that over there. Still not positive what it was but it has diminished greatly..

Thanks. I'm going to seal off the drain of the scupper and then dump some water over it. Then run below and see if the leak still happens. It's consistently leaked at this spot since I got the boat last month. I've got all the headliner removed. I've just got the fiberglass painted. So it should not be too hard to determine where the leak is coming from. Famous last words..........

let me know if it is some weird thing as we have had a persistent leak on starboard between the forward end of the settee and bookshelves and about the middle. it seems to come in around the bookshelves and then travel down the teak planks behind and above the settee heading aft. doesn't really do any damage as it only ever touches the solid teak trim but annoying.. Happens very rarely anymore as something we redid seems to have impacted it in a positive manner. We have been overall really lucky with Valkyr the interior is in exceptional shape. Extremely minimal damage of any kind to any of the interior wood. Actually the only bit I can think of off hand is where spray from the sink has minimally damaged the wood behind it.. it is slightly discoloured. We have treated it with tung oil and it looks great now.
