I recently purchased tavarua, and am beginning a total refit. The stringers in the hull are a concern because someone left the hatch open for a year+ and the bilge has been full to the cabin sole for an unknown amount of time. Does anyone know what they used for core material for the hull stringers?

Might be easiest to just drill into one and see the condition and material. If good just seal the hole with epoxy.
