Sailrite Equipment and Vendor Reviews Forums

Sailrite has a very good reputation. I purchase stuff from them but I have found other vendors that can on average beat their prices by as much as 50% on a lot of stuff.  We are making a bimini top soon and just ordered Top Notch fabric which is a solution dyed polyester. It has the strength of top gun but the color fastness of sunbrella. I got it for 12.80 a yard. Everyone else has it for 22 to 30+ dollars a yard. We also just purchased a Press and Snap tool with 5 dies for putting in snaps and grommets. Sailrite 139 dollars. http://www.rochfordsupply.com had it for 116 dollars. All the snaps and grommets

On the flip side sailrite has probably double or triple the customer service that any other company I know of has. When I called rochfordsupply the person that answered the phone just didn't feel that interested in helping me find the right product or even taking my order over the phone. Right now though price is king. We use sailrite first if they have reasonable prices. We just bought some trampoline netting and fittings to make a baby proof lee cloth for the v-berth on the boat and got it from sailrite. It will be strong enough to keep an adult in but allow the baby to see the rest of the boat through the mesh when its up and she is in the v-berth.

Your also right about sailrite's online resources. They have how to videos for just about everything.

Sailrite to me seems to be a retail store on the web aimed at the home/boat user with lots of customer service and hand holding while places like http://www.rochfordsupply.com seem more like a wholesaler with a bring your own knowledge with you attitude.
