Gracie Emmett is looking for a new owner to take her out to play. This is probably one of the nicest DE32's out there with some major projects done by the last couple owners, including but not limited to bowsprit replacement with custom metal bowsprit, composting head, 50% more powerful than stock engine, mid boom main sheet setup, custom cockpit hatch for accessing batteries in engine compartment, and converted to tiller steering. Most of this can be seen at the following link from the last owner before the current one. http://downeasteryachts.com/fo.....cie-emmett
As you can see from current pictures she needs a little TLC as the wood work on deck needs to be redone and the headliner is out of her and needs replacing. Both of these projects are very doable. My understanding is that at the current time she is on the hard with a winter cover over her. I spoke with a friend of the owner and he is going to pull the winter cover off and take some more pictures soon that I will put up.
The person to contact about seeing the boat and purchasing her is Ann Harrison at 845-518-2360. Due to the cosmetic projects needing to be done and the current owners medical condition they are looking for a quick sale. My impression is that any reasonable offer would be taken. As soon as I get more information from them I will post a price up. Based on the insured value of the boat from the insurance coverage it has now it is valued at 30,000 dollars given the wood work being up to date and the headliner back in. If your eager to purchase a DE32 for a bargain I would suggest not waiting but giving Ms. Harrison a call and making an offer. The projects needed are minimal and cosmetic from what I can tell based on pictures and what has been told to me. I know from the last owner just how much in the way of TLC and upgrades she received from him and how very particular he was about how stuff was done. My feeling is that due to health issues she has sat on the hard for a few years in a winterized condition and just needs the cosmetic stuff sorted out. Based on a conversation with a sailing friend of the current owner, he pulled her out of the water every year for winter storage.
I will put up location and other details as I get them.
The Family has contacted me and asked that the price be listed at 11,000 for a quick sale. This is one of those once in a lifetime deals due to family circumstances. I imagine it will go quick. If anyone is interested or knows someone that would be interested give Ann Harrison a call at 845-518-2360.
