Wow, last year (5/12) this boat was priced at $39,500.
Might save time,...posted here,..boat needs lots of work.
Below is a more current description of the boat's current condition along with current photos and information on surveyors and slip fees.
This boat has to be sold. She has been taken by the marina for unpaid slip fees. She is currently Canadian registered and will be provided with clear title.
The owners had been cruising her and enjoying her when personal decisions necessitated them leaving her here in Mexico. When they found that they were not using her over the next two years, they decided to put her up for sale. The boat was first listed with us in March 2012, BUT she has been essentially sitting relatively neglected since around 2010. She has been sitting totally neglected since 2011. The headsails have been removed and stored down below; the main is covered with a sunbrella boom cover. The engine and genset have not been run in that time. The electronics have not been turned on or run since then.
Her running rigging has been degraded by the sun and would need much, if not all, replaced. Her standing rigging looks good for the age, but would benefit from a very good cleaning. Her stainless steel also needs polishing. Her topsides are filthy.
The canvas is sun aged, but mostly serviceable. Her hull is oxidized and some trim paint has peeled, and the hatches are stained and dirty. The interior is stained, dirty but serviceable. Luckily, Mexico is a great inexpensive place to paint boats and get new upholstery and canvas work.
The engine room - engine, through hulls and wiring look clean and in good shape. As you can see from the photos there has been some damage to the headliner and interior wiring. The interior varnish is ok and the cabin sole could, with minimal effort and cost, be made to shine again.
The boat is in Mazatlan and in the water. She should be hauled, surveyed and painted. This boat should be given a thorough pre-purchase survey so the potential buyer is fully aware of the overall condition of the boat as well as an idea of the scope of work required to get it into seaworthy condition.
A list of surveyors may be found on our website - http://mazatlanmarinecenter.com/
Now for the cost of slips. The following links are to the websites of marinas in Mazatlan:
1. El Cid – http://www.elcidmarinas.com/de.....s/mazatlan
2. Marina Mazatlan – http://www.marina-mazatlan.com/
4. Isla Marina - http://islamazatlan.com.mx/slips/
The listing photos were taken between March and June 2012. This would be her at her optimum after she has been restored. In the photos that follow, I have endeavored to show her current condition, warts and all!!
This is a link to current photos – taken 06/04/2013.
Overall, the boat shows worn and dirty with no obvious major defects. She will take some money and a lot of manual effort to bring back – but she will be a great buy for the person with the time and energy willing to take her on as a project.
If this boat is not the boat you are looking for, please drop me a line with your requirements, what you plan to use the boat for, and your actual budget and I may be able to further assist you in your search.
Regards
Grant
