Hello all,

Just wondering if there are any 32 or 38 owners on the east coast who are considering selling?  Downeasters have made my very short list, and I’m looking to find one that needs some updating.  These are great boats, and I’m eager to give one a good home. If anyone out there is thinking about parting with their boat, please let me know!

thanks, and wish y’all happy and safe sailing!

Our Downester 38 Valkyr is for sale. I haven't listed her yet due to just haven't gotten to it itis... I don't have time to go into detail right now but maybe on the weekend we could talk. My scheadule is brutal for thursday and friday so I probably wouldn't have time then. Saturday or sunday would be better. We are in south carolina on the east coast near myrtle beach. If I could send her off to a good home that would take care of her better than I can now I would give someone a decent deal. You can reach me at

You will have to twist my arm a bit. But, the thought has crossed my mind. I've only had her a year and would like at least another season. The wife's not a sailor, and does not have the enthusiasm I once did. Plus, I'm getting older and starting to have body issues and various pains that have me a bit worried.   We are in Stuart Florida.

Paper Moon, my (1977 - 38 Down East Cutter Rig) hull #136 and is in beyond exceptional condition.

Everything has been replaced new starting in 2016, Cutlass, dripless shaft brg, engine -yanmar 40 w/ 150 hrs, Motor has automatic oil pump for oil changes and the fuel tank is set up to continual recirculate / polish. All new standing and running rigging by Mac Sails, Rolling Furling, New butterfly hatch,  All New Sails - Head, staysail & main done by Mac Sails w/ mac pack, All new canvas, Bimini, dodger, connector, all matching sail covers, hatch covers. Completely new Bow Sprit, Sampson posts. New bottom peeled and reglassed, hull awlgrip painted, topsides awlgrip painted and new awlgrip non-skid, Port lights, All new wiring, New Plumbing, and upgraded w/ 30gal holding tank. Deck wash. Interior woodwork: new oak ceiling, headliner is gone thru out. All galley main salon Cabinetry redone in Oak. (Not my 1st choice to have been used) It has Davits, Solar, wind, radar and navigation. She carries 750 amp hours in 3 battery banks. 8' dingy new 2016.

I added new 16,000 Btu A/C w/heat and refrigeration. I fabricated a matching overhead cabinet over the galley sinks and a teak swing up counter for added counter space between sinks and nav table. I'm about to install new Pin rails and belay pins. This boat looks almost Brand New, inside and out. She's a head turner.

Things to consider; Replacing the water tanks. Forward tank has a slow drip leak and I am currently not using it, just the aft tank until I figure out the best way to replace both tanks.

When I do sell I do not want to use a broker. If I were to sell now I wouldn't take anything less than what I paid for her. If you would like photo's and start a dialogue I suggest we do it thru emails.

Just let me know
