I am restoring my 1975 DE38, she is shown here in her slip on August 1, 2020. So far I have replaced the salon floor, roll-
out berth, chart table, and the bulkhead cabinet, installed a new cabinet with roll out shelves where the pilot berth was, replaced all of the electrical with a new Victron 120/3000 charger-inverter, 2-200 AH victron LiFepo4 for a 400 AH house bank, new Victron 90 AH AGM start battery, all re-located out of the engine compartment. All new PEX plumbing, all new instruments with 2 Raymarine Axiom MFD connected via network switch, new Raymarine black box VHF with AIS transponder, new Raymarine ACU 200 with new EV-1, new i70s interfaces at the helm, new tri-ducer connected with a Raymarine itc5, new mainsheet traveler to get rid of the cumbersome original arrangement, and many other little things too numerouse to mention. I am about to repair the nonskid as it has small pieces missing here and there. My thought is to use epoxy thicked with fumed silica and mica for color and fine sand for texture. Has anyone had to do this?
Thanks for sharing. Looks like you have done a lot of good work.
Sorry that you have not received better reaction to your post. Things have slowed down in this forum lately.
More info and photos are always welcome.
I have not had to redo the interior yet but should work on the non-skid issue as well.
By the way, what is the origin of the name? Something from Norse mythology?
