In July of 2010,my boyfriend Travis and I bought our DE32. At the time she was called Cheney Ann,and was moored so near by that the sail home was only about ten minutes long. We moved aboard right away and have been doing steady little projects ever since. We just finally got the paperwork in from the coast guard,so we can officially say she is now re-named Seabird.
This is copied from the "hull numbers" page on this site; William&Margaret Lewis are the kind folks who sold her to us. We are still on the Maine coast.

00180476-321 | CHENEY ANN | William &Margaret Lewis | Maine coast (for now) | Boat was previously named “Motion”and sailed in Long Island Sound. If anyone has any info about it I’d like to know. I bought it as a bank repo so it came with no paperwork,no pedigree. |
This info is taken from our blog, which you should feel free to check out and follow! http://sailingseabird.wordpress.com
Before we bought her,the vinyl headliner was removed and replaced with tongue-and-groove pine which was a great improvement. Most of the lines on deck had been rigged so that they are operable from the cockpit, including the stay-sail sheets, and we hope to add two new reef points in the future. This winter the main sail had a third reef put in and the staysail is got a reefing point, also. You can never be too safe! We hope this will help us to practice our heavy weather sailing this summer, though so far the weather has been very calm and been great for gentle,light-wind sails.
Because we are living aboard,we converted the port-side pilot berth into a book-shelf for extra storage. We also use the sea-berth area for storage and for Bella's kennel. If we do a long offshore passage we will need to make a cushion for this area and move the pup's kennel somewhere else. Another major improvement we did was to convert our head into a Nature's Head composting toilet! We love it,and it allowed us to remove the smelly bladder from under the v-berth where we sleep. Behind the bulkhead table,we have created another small storage space. We bumped the table out away from the bulkhead by about 8",which means that the person sitting next to the heater still gets space for their plate on the table, and we have some space to store cookbooks and a few decks of cards. So far,so good. With a few more minor improvements, and the constant maintenance that all boats require,we hope to sail this boat a long way!
We love our DE 32!
We are trying to figure out how the port-side pilot berth works on our DE38. I think a prior owner removed a piece or two. It looks significantly different than on your boat though. We have been using a nature's head for a year now and love it. We are just now needing to empty it after about 8 months of part time usage. We installed a nicro solar vent on the dorade box over the head compartment and it has worked great.
We would love some close up pictures of your fold up table. Our boat has the permanent table with fold up sides. We are very close to just pulling that table out and want to put a fold up table in. 🙂
