These are some interior shots of upgrades done by the previous owner of 20+ years. He took meticulous care of the vessel and I am very happy with that as my first Downeaster 38 was a basket case, money pit and 3 year project. But oh what experience I gained.
The boat had a complete refit about 5 years ago including new engine (Volvo D2-40), wiring, plumbing, standing/running rigging, sails, stainless solar arch/davits, dodger, big windows, top sides paint, interior, etc. Lots of upgrades this past year included instant hot water heater, interior/exterior showers, pressure water pump, head, electronics, and a bunch more. I feel very lucky to have found her in this condition as I was specifically looking for a Downeaster.
