We did it! The survey went well and while we don't have the final report, we went ahead and signed all the papers today. We are now the owners of the soon-to-be "Mongojo" a 1980 DE 38. Formerly "Morning Star". Cutter rigged, (or is it "slutter"...hmmm) somewhere between hull 220-230, from what it looked like when I briefly perused the boat registry here. We are so excited!!

[Image Can Not Be Found][Image Can Not Be Found][Image Can Not Be Found][Image Can Not Be Found] I had a chance to talk to surveyor (without broker hovering...grrrrrr) and he said he felt like while the boat had some problems, it was "a lot of boat for the money." That's what I had concluded as well, so all I really needed was that confirmation. So excited. Some things I figured out today...the good: Our bronze ports open! All of them...yay! I didn't realize this previously so I was excited. It gets hot in the tropics. The bad: The cabin sole is worse than I thought. The main section pretty much just needs to be replaced. Sad face.

The ports are dirty. Yuck. The grime and green and black must be removed from the interior. I'm a girl and I like clean stuff. And the headliner....ewwww. Just...ewwww. It needs a new faucet. The RADAR works!!! Nature's Head high on priority list. The "soft spot" on the deck was the one thing the surveyor said needs to be addressed sooner rather than later. The 1980 upholstery is heinous. But the PORTS OPEN!! lol Needs a new battery (OR two). Just randomly thinking about our new boat. We are so excited!!
