I  had assumed it was the original, but looking through the original specs/documents etc. it obviously wasn't as she was originally tiller steered with aft sheeting. So the wheel/pedestal and mid-boom sheeting must have been a conversion. The consignment store is closed Mondays, but I'll check it out during the week and take a photo of it with measurements. I can't see many people with siutable boats around that could use it - so it's yours if you want it for free (or anyone else if you don't).

My plan was to get one that extends the width of the top of the hard doger which will be about 12" less in width than the coach roof at the companionway. 🙂

We removed the winch on the cabin top which may have been for the mainsheet or maybe the staysail (which doesn't need one either). So was able to get rid of a lot of extra gear (and expense) and fabricate a better 'garage' for the companionway hatch, dodger and bimini (pics on Pelli re-fit).

Anyway - the cluncky s/s traveller that had been on the cabintop is, I believe, still at the consignment shop down here in Oriental,NC and could be retrieved if anyone wants it.

I haven't decided whether to go with a 4:1 or 6:1 purchase. I like the Idea of 4:1 just for how much less line you need, but the extra purchase on a main the size of ours would be nice. I've got a few projects in front of this one though so it will be a while.

This original layout didn't have a winch, only a single starboard side cleat. You would need arms of steel and faultless sail/boom handling to work the main sheet. One good point about this arrangement is that it has two attachment points/bails on the boom.  Even with an upgraded 4:1 purchase on each side of the main sheet, we still found that sheet stoppers were not sufficient, we needed winches so that all the crew could manage the main sheet.

It's going to be raised up around 24 inches over the coach roof. We have been trying to figure out what size aluminum or stainless tubing or square section material to fabricate that back part with to handle the loads that the main sheet will put on it.
