Hmm.. I'm not sure about the ketch.. All I could say is for the cutter rig. However all the halyards on our boat are at the mast. They do not run back to the cockpit. This was the standard configuration for all these boats unless someone changed it or maybe had the builder do a custom job. Don't know if it was ever an option. There are a lot of boats with pictures of them under "The Boats" in the top menu of the website and then under the DE38's and then under individual boats. .

You will find stuff like the line drawings here that do have a DE38 ketch represented in them

/the-boats/downeaster-38/de38-line-drawings

also a boat profile on tondelayo that is a DE38 ketch. There is a single image that you might be able to make out some info from.

This schooner should have very close if not the same mast layout I think.

/the-boats/downeaster-38/individual-boats/de38-schooner-merrymaid

here is a shot that shows the blocks on deck for the mainsheet for the mainsail. as well as the staysail boom blocks

I hope this helps.

Hello, I have a DE 38 Ketch that I purchased a few years back. The first three years I did not sail her. Now I am beginning to get a lot more use. The thing is. setting the running rigging up was a guess. We still haven't put up the jib. This year I purchased 5 new sails and I'mm looking for some help to put it together properly. If any of you owners have some diagrams and or photos to share I would love to see them. The large foot blocks were removed and I need a bit of help setting up the sheets and halyards. And the new harken furler for the 120% high cut yankee.
