If anyone else has anything to add to the travelor vs A frame conversation then go ahead and start a new post in the rigging forum on it. I am still interested in peoples observations that have sailed with boat and  can give a good contrast of performance and usage.

I don't have experience with a traveler but did switch my DE38 factory installed end-boom sheeting for slightly aft of mid-boom A-frame sheeting setup. With 2 winches and jam-cleats mounted on the cabin top, it works well ... opened up the poop deck and no more pain in the neck ducking and dodging the main sheet.

However Tim told me that the actual travel distance for adjustment is only about 2 to 2 and a half feet with a total length at the feet of 4 feet or so. On the other side my traveler on valkyr is at the transom and is only about 4 ft long. As far as I am aware it is a factory setup. So if you move forward to mid boom, I would bet that the smaller travelor gives you as much effective adjustment as the longer one on Valkyr does.

Anyone else want to weigh in on the pros and cons of traveler length vs end boom or mid boom sheeting.
