Just boxed up dodger and created shipping label. It is going out today.

Took a while to find and then actually getting it boxed up took a while.

 

If I can do something over the internet it gets done first thing. Real world letters or packages are a whole different story :)

Update on my sail quest.  I was able to pickup a really nice used roller jib ( North ) and a nearly new ( used one season and is in excellent condition ) main ( Housley ) from Bacon Sails in Annapolis MD for $1600.  Both are clean, crisp, triple stitched and ready to last for whatever adventures I find myself on.  I couldn't be more excited.

We have been dealing with everyone in the family getting sick one after the other the last few weeks which hasn't help either. I haven't deposited the check you sent for shipping and won't until we find the dodger and get it ready to ship. Just wanted to give you an update.

You can get almost brand new sails for 10 cents on the dollar if you look around and get a good deal. I would have no issue going to Europe or Hawaii on such a set of sails. I know of more than one person that has gone around the world on the same set of sails.. that is a lot of hours of use. Most of us just go out sailing a few days a month if that and the sails get relatively little wear on them.

It also depends on what you want the sail for.  I wouldn't try to enter the Transpaciific Yacht Race with a set of $2000 used Sails, but if you're using it for day sailing you should be fine.

You can find some great deals on really good condition used sails sometimes. I would probably take a while to get them all the correct size but I would guess you could kit the boat out for between a 1000 and 2000 at the high end. I would try the different used sail lofts or even ebay sometimes.

They do have sail kits for the DE38 as well.
