So well protected but harder to access for the helm person 🙂

You will have more issues on an ongoing basis with them at the helm. Not saying not to do it as I would think it would be fine for years before you need to do maintenance to fix switches etc.. Down below we are still using factory switches just fine, so longevity is  better there.
