I will have to do that when we get back out on the water. 🙂 I traded for a gopro a while back.. pretty incredible camera.

It is an awesome shot.. I thought you had gotten a friend with a plane or a commercial service to take the picture.

Thanks! I took the picture using a GoPro camera suspended from a kite string. I'm looking forward to the day when the boat looks more like Bodhran, rigged and ready for full time cruising! Lots of respect for your travels Jason!

I took this time lapse video on Oct. 9th,sailing into Manchester Harbor with my fifteen year old daughter and her friend. It was a beautiful day,and was warm enough to set a record temperature for that date. Kind of a funny clip.

Thanks for the photo. I do not have many of Dolphin, my new, 1977 DE 32. I sailer her up from Everett WA home to Homer, Alaska. We only had wind--it was on our tail, the very, final, last leg--sailing into my home port, Kachemak Bay. That's my good bud, Ralph at the helm. The photo was taken by fellow Homer Yacht Club members at the end of the spit when we entered the bay after our six-week journey.

lol... yep.. for short sails we tend to just pull them up on the side deck. Bad habit I've never shaken 🙂

In a whole 'nother genre of pictures we were just leaving Sucia Island a few weeks ago and as we motored out of the bay a handsome craft caught our eye. We did a pass by and shouted a big hello to the couple on board. The craft was the lovely Shambhala hailing from Vancouver. I thought I would post it here and hope they had a wonderful trip wherever they were bound

interesting contrast in the first posts pictures and the next two. It doesn't look like they have the dorades installed. It leaves a much more open looking deck without them. I suppose no dodger helps make it look like that also.

Looks like people love the bow-sprit view, we do too! This is the Sea Bird sailing last summer, I don't remember the exact details of the speed or wind conditions, but it was beautiful out, of course!

This was October of 2007 coming home from a race. We were broad reaching in 17 to 25 knots of wind. This is about 2 years prior to us purchasing the boat.:) I just noticed the crack in the bowsprit:) Angela pulled and had the bowsprit repaired just after that. I had forgotten about that. Reminds me that it is time to put another coat of black paint on it.

We were averaging 8 knots here and hitting 9.5 on a regular basis in the gusts.

I always like seeing photos of fellow Downeast-Owners' boats, and thought I'd share this one taken on Sunday. Since my wife had other plans, I was single-handing Perelandra, in Salem Sound (MA), and engaged the "auto pilot" (a bungee from the steering pedestal) and climbed out on the pulpit for the shot. It was a great sail, warm, with 15kts from the SE. Won't be too many more of those days, at least in this area.

Anyone else have a picture to share?
