I'll take some pictures of the underside this afternoon. They are compeltely glassed through holes, pretty much a tube of fiberglass going through. No leaks there, but as I mentioned the gelcoat cracks badly. Here is the port side one, it is the most cracked:

Its just one of many areas on deck that need repairing before I paint. The glass going through the bulwark is solid though.

Erick,

that is very cool... I notice that the bottom of the hawse pipe is flush with the deck. Do you have any issues with leakage there? Can you see the hawse pipe from inside the boat in the galley cabinetry? If so could you take some pictures of it from in there and post them also.

Since we are going to be doing this also I am very interested in how it was done. Especially as with it flush against the deck for water run off I would have thought it would be prone to leaking as the deck flexes since it doesn't look as if there is a flange on that side to attach it to the deck. I would actually like to do it like that if there is a way to do so that wouldn't leak.

Windsong has some midship hawse holes, I thought they were standard on all DE38's. Maybe not? They only have a frame on the outside, and on the inside have gelcoat, which on Windsong is badly cracked and will be repaired.

it helps in docking and does drain the deck.. however it will also let
