I don't know anything specific. Best you can do is hope it is the same katherine without a hull number. You could also look through the website and the forums at boat pictures. I do remember there being a boat shown by someone that had that aft starboard cabin. Don't remember where. I think it was on the main website but it might have been in forums. If you go to the top menu on the site and go to "The Boats" then go to "Downeaster 38" the to "individual boats" there are a hand full of boats that have lots of pictures of them. There is also a section of the forum where people have listed information on their boats to show them off. That would be found under Boat Profiles.

Hope you can find her.

I am looking for the 1979 manufactured DE 38, Katherine however I don't remember her hull number. The Katherine I ordered in 1979 was unique in that she had a aft quarter cabin on the Starboard side rather than the nav-station. I also had the compression post under the mast cut slightly oversized to avoid sagging that can occur at the deck on some DE 38's due mast pressure. There was no drop down table in the main cabin. We had a permanent drop leaf table installed with a gimbaled tray in the middle. We also installed a High Seas diesel heater on the starboard main cabin forward bulkhead. I owned her for about 6 years and lived aboard with my wife and daughter. They were wonderful years sailing up and down the Calif coast and many trips to the Channel Islands.

I emailed the owners of the Katherine listed in the owners sectioned of this web site but not sure if they will receive the query. Any info on Katherine would be greatly appreciated.
