Said they don't insure boats that old. Could be you were grandfathered in if you've been with them a long time. Or maybe I was just talking to a bad rep.

Ended up going with Hagerty, classic boat insurance. Never had a claim but they seem OK. They require a survey every five years. Don't have any cruising limits within North America, as far as I recall. Maybe something like 100 nm off shore or something but that didn't affect my plans when I asked.

I pay ~$1000/yr. for $40,000 agreed value plus $2500 dinghy coverage.

I am an impecunious sailor who has neither the time nor money for a haulout and survey so ... suggestions anyone?
