Hi Scott,

I just thought I'd make a topic where people could put their revisions to the new hull # information. What a great compilation of info you gathered!

Travis Swaim and I (Sophi Swaim) bought the DE32 #18 from Bill Lewis. She was called the Cheney Ann,we have renamed her Seabird. We are located in Portland,ME and our e-mails are travis (dot) swaim (at) gmail.com and sophi (dot) swaim (at) gmail.com. We have two websites, one is http://www.sailingseabird.wordpress.com and the other (more general one) is http://www.maineliveaboards.com.

Thanks for keeping the site up to date,it's neat to see where in the world the other Downeasters are!

Glad to do it..:) wish I had time to keep up with it more than I do. I should put out a call to see if I can get a few other members to volunteer to work on the website also, right now it is a bit under utilised I think.

I went ahead and updated your boats info:)

James,

I added you and Rhondavous in. Could you when you get a chance get me your sail plan? cutter, sloop, ketch etc.. and your hull number? I added you in as 1976 hull as you fell in the middle of the other boats in 1976. If this is inaccurate let me know. Thanks and glad to be able to add a new boat to the hull and owners list:)

Scott,

Our listing has disappeared.  It was on the old site, but didn't make the cut!

Boat name is Perelandra.  The hull no. is 32,Downeast 38 Cutter rig built in 1975.  Owners are Doug &Debra Mentuck, hailing port is Swampscott,MA although we keep her on a mooring in Salem Harbor.  Email is doug(at)thementucks.com.

The boat was berthed at Santa Barbara city marina for many years, until late in 2007.  We trucked her east in September of that year.

Thanks for all the good work you do!

Doug

Doug,

Sorry about that. The old webpages that had that info on them got damaged and I wasn't able to recover all the info:) Thanks for resending yours. It is now updated with your info.

Do you have your hull number? I'm still missing that:)

Hi Scott,

I personally want to thank you for the great job you have been doing on this site.  What kind of help would you need would you need to help you run this site?  I'd be willing to help but don't know anything about what it takes.

Just in case you run out of things to do…here is my updated info: Hull # 20 of DE32's,Misty Dawn AAY#00200576321 still in Channel Islands Harbor in Southern California with me,Chris Loza,as new owner and full time liveaboard.  After owning this boat for around twenty five years,Jim Curry finnaly sold her to me only because he and his wife were moving to Maine.  Seabird might be getting a knock on the hull any time now.

I have notice a few Downeasters around this area that are not listed here.  I'm making it a point to make a list and will try to make the owners aware of this site.

I'd better take off for now.  Misty has a completely new set of sails that need to be broken in and yes,I am now broke but she can, once again, sail with a bone in her teeth. Cool

Hey Chris,

I have your info updated.

I would be glad if you wish to contribute.

I have changed your membership status to author so that you can write/create posts on the front page and the static pages. I am doing this for most anyone that wants to be more active in the website at this time. I am so busy with life the last year or so that the community isn't getting a lot of attention here. I think if we  can get a core of other members that are more active it should pick back up a lot.

Thanks,Scott.

My Baby just turned 18 this last month but those first few years were, well…remembered fondly…now.  Back then, chaos.  Just about the time you get one thing mastered they come up with something new to rattle your brain and it just doesn't stop…for the rest of our lives.  Oh,the joy.  Just remember to enjoy every moment and try not to blink because before you know it…they're 18.

I'd be glad to help and contribute.

I am enjoying the living daylights out of her. It's the most amazing thing watching her change and develop. She is an amazing little girl:)

About helping out with the website……………..

Ok I'm moving this to http://downeasteryachts.com/fo…..y-building

If anyone have further comments on the website or helping just jump over to the link above and post them there.:) This topic really should stay topical on the hull number/owner revisions. I'm afraid I'm the one that pulled it sideways into this so your just going to have to forgive me:)

Hull number 40,Sea Leopard is now Argyle.

You might want to consider removing the left and right panels for the owner registry page. The page is designed to be kind of a landscape layout and unless you are viewing it on a widescreen monitor the formatting gets messed up.

Thanks for putting that up again. Smile

Oh,and you can also add an email. Argyle has her own email address:

Thanks for the update and suggestion. Not sure why I didn't think of that before. It's not like I haven't done it before. The forums are done that way where I removed the left and right panels.:)

sometimes I just need my hand held!! lol

Ok,I got a chance to play with the site for a second or a 1000:) and removed the side panels from the boat owners and hull number page as suggested. It makes a huge difference. If those of you using smaller monitors at lower resolutions could give some feed back I would appreciate it. I am pretty spoiled with the 23 and 24 inch monitors on my computer and it leaves me out of touch with how stuff on the website looks sometimes for users with different hardware. The advantage of working with and on computers is that I tend to have lots of toys through the company. Downside is it warps my perception of what everyone else has.
