It is a bit of a pain in the butt.. however you can get 300 ft of chain in there if you try. We had 275 at one time and a bit of room left over. I am looking at some type of spool drum on deck for a mostly rode anchor line and then we still have about 175 ft of chain in the locker after we cut away a bad section of the original chain. Other things we have done was to run a hose from the bottom anchor locker to a dedicated sump for the anchor locker and shower so that muck and water from the anchor locker doesn't flow the full length of the boat to the main bilge. Doing that took our boat to dusty dry bilges the length of the boat.

 

another project is to install a tube for the chain to fall directly into the lower anchor locker. I haven't figured that one out yet but would love to get that done.
