Someone I knew that had one told me they worked pretty good. The only downside was when they are running you get a diesel smell that you have to deal with. I don't know if poor venting had anything to do with that.

I've personally not experienced that. Most of the Diesel smell comes from incomplete burn. It does have a smell like that starting up for sure, but once it's running I don't smell it. That or I'm just used to the smell.

So, a friend gave me a Force 10 Kerosene/Diesel heater. The burner and the tank he gave me with it weren't in terribly good shape, and the thing had sat in my garage. Well I finally got around to fixing it up, fabricating a new tank for it and everything. It's even made to be plumbed right into the boat's fuel supply so I can make heat without having to go to too much trouble.
