I have Whale fresh and salt water foot pumps located at my galley sink. Dual stainless sink with salt spigot for the left basin and fresh for the right. It's a great setup. Also have a fresh water foot pump at the head sink. With this setup, I hardly ever use the 12 volt water pump.

The foot pump salt water line is taken off the raw water intake in the engine room with it's own dedicated T valve mounted on the bulkhead. It can be flushed out with fresh water for boat storage/layup.

So you're pulling salt water from the raw water intake for rinsing and saving fresh water? Did I get that right?

Did you T off the intake at the through hull or inline on the hose?

Mine is a knock off also, but works great. I just ran new new hose which went aft from the galley sink cabinet above the fuel tank to my raw water in take manifold in the engine room. The pipe was a real bugger to get through that tight space. Probably smarter to go under the tank. Our foot pump is on the port side of the cabinet and the faucet is located at 11 o'clock, if the sink forward edge is 12 o'clock. i.e. slightly off to the left side of the sink. We have a dual deep sink set up, so it works great for rinsing etc. The foot pedal is not in the way either.

Whale seems to be the only one I know that makes these. However I have to admit to having a knock off of a whale foot pump with no branding on it. So I couldn't tell you where to find it. I have never installed is so couldn't speak to function.
