I have put up bob's articles on the front page of the website as a 3 part series starting today with one each week. I also combined them into a consolidated permanent page under the info index and owner mod's

Enjoy everyone. Bob does a good job of documenting his projects.

🙂 I think I read that before Bob...lot of work..

On Valkyr ours was a dead easy installation compared to that, not that I installed it.. They just took over the hanging locker on starboard oposite the head and put the heat pump in there with the water pump under that in the bilge area. The intake pulls air through the slatted wood door to the compartment and there are two vents one on the aft side of the hanging locker beside the saloon seat and one coming out the upper surface of the hanging closet in the vberth just forward of the closet the a/c unit is in. The longest air vent length is about 3 ft with the other one being about 10 inches. However I have to say I haven't been that impressed with the system on valkyr.. when it works it works well but mostly it seems to not work for one reason or the other.. I just replaced the water pump that had burned out and it worked for about twenty minutes in testing and then it quit putting out hot or cold air. water pump still working.. I think it's now low on freon and the unit is shutting itself down automatically.... real pain in the butt.. I'm tempted to pull the unit and reclaim the space it's in.

Hey could I put your heat pump story up on the website?

We have a 6000 btu unit on our de38 in the locker oposite the head. The water pump is below it and hooked into one of the through hulls in the head that we no longer used for the head. The outlet is in the hull above waterline in the hanging closet in the vberth just forward of the closet that the AC unit is in. The AC unit is on top of a shelf that is install the width and length of the closet at the level of the bottom of the door.
