So it had been a while since I even looked at the facebook page. Several people had left comments about is it active in the past that I hadn't even noticed. Bad Me!! I also checked on how easy it is to give editor or other role access to the page on facebook. Turns out it is quite easy. So just waiting on someone to step up to the plate and be our facebook guru!!!!

We have had a facebook page since 2010.. just search for downeaster yachts on facebook or follow the below link.

https://www.facebook.com/Downeaster-Yachts-127339967306546/

It is not really used. I don't have the time to manage it and do stuff for the website. If someone want's to step up and start posting stuff there or cross posting some of the articles here to there, I would be extremely happy. If so let me know and I will figure out how to give access to posting there to that person or persons

Lot of truth to this. other side though is they are old boats and the ones that sell the most are the ones with the worst maintenance issues or that need a total refurb. So the prices tend to be lower and it is hard for the market to adjust for a boat in good condition.

A open comment to all current, future DE Owners.....

our up and down economy, along with corporations outsourcing, layoffs etc., many times leads to DE owners needing to sell their boats at below market prices.

we are all aware of the Top of the Line cruising makes,....Swan, Hinckly, Island Packet, Pacific Seacraft etc.

whether our models are in this league or not is a definite matter of opinion.

however, many, many times Old Salts approach me and tell me how impressed they are with all the characteristics of the DE.

It seems if there are ever any negatives toward our DEs, it comes from the Go. Fast, weekend warrier Catabenahunter types.

the prominent , well versed Miami Boat Reviewer (who's name escapes me), only found 1 discretionary item (small scupper size) on our boats, where other makes are mangled by him.

my point is that the value of our boats is significantly held by our own tethers, meaning that we should Talk our Brand up, maintain selling prices in the higher range, congregate, communicate, and do everything we can to promote our Brand.

someone unloading one, diminishes our brands value, and sets a pricing precedent index for future sells to follow. Best
