I am hoping that some of you can help me. I am looking at buying either a DE 38 (ketch rigged) or a Pearson 365 (Ketch).

The costs are about the same (within a few thousand)

The DE appears to need more work (one port is covered in silicone caulking) to bring it back to Bristol condition (DE '77, 365 ' 78)

I will be living aboard with my wife, 2 (count 'em 2) Jack Russell Terrorists….. erhm Terriers… and occasionally my son, his wife, and 2 grandsons.

My cruising objectives will be mildly off-shore for the first two years or so, i.e. Houston to Key West, Caribb, etc. and then possibly to the Med for a year or two.

I have found this site to be a GREAT reference (love following Erick's blog) for the DE's but cannot find any reviews etc., for the Pearson 365s. [Image Can Not Be Found]

Can anyone give me some information/comparison about the relative merits or demerits of the either boat?

Thanks for you help and keep up the great site.
