I have a de32. I moved the Samson posts to the aft side of the bulkhead got a few inches that way for my windless. I re-cored the whole area with that san polymer foam core called m80 by gruit I can't remember the common name for it though. . and inlaid 1/2 g10 around all deck penitrations. I used 316 4x4 box bem for it because I can weld. If I was paying for a welder I'd get an aluminium one for sure. It's a pretty easy job but there is alot to it. If you have the old sprit keep it. I measured from the old through bolts to the forestay plate. Every thing lined right back up.

Hello All,

After a feew glorious month sailing my 78 DE38 K , my bobstay failed and allowed my rotten bowsprit to rip up thru my for deck. I am looking for any and all info regarding replacement of the Bowsprit, which is rotten.

Samson posts positions, mine seem far forward and dont attach directly to the bulkhead.

And finally , deck repair. Got some nasty holes.

Thanks
