        	        	<description><![CDATA[<p>Thanks. That worked. But I notice that the lid leaks just a tiny bit. Even though I&#039;ve tightened it pretty tight. (The top wing nuts.) There&#039;s no gasket there. Should there be one? </p>

        	        	<description><![CDATA[<p>If the strainer is located below the water line (and your boat is in the water) then yes, it would be a good idea to close the seacock before any opening it. It would be better to relocate the strainer to a point above the water line if possible.</p>

<p>Do I need to close a seacock ? I don&#039;t have a manual for this device. </p>
