I forget exactly how many but it is a standard layout for some of the common sensors. If I remember right looking aft at the engine the fuel fill is on the far right/port side aft corner of the tank. then there are a couple small fittings for the fuel line to the engine and the fuel return line from the engine. More toward the center on the aft edge of the tank is a larger fitting that the fuel guage sensor fits on. Basically you want to get a matched sensor and gauge and get the correct length float arm for the depth of the tank. There are actually several different types of sensors/floats etc.. ones that run up and down a rod, ones that are on a float arm the is hinged and bends as the float arm moves up and down. Also there are some new technologies that through sound or electrical capacitance detect fluid levels in a tank.

You will have to do some Google searches for fuel tank gauge’s, or tank level gauge etc.. there are even some gauge systems that work with holding tanks, potable water, fuel etc where have one readout gauge  for multiple sensors.

my DE38 came without a fuel gauge and was wondering if anyone has installed one? What did you use and how was the installation? I notice there's a round port on top of the tanks when I remove the bottom steps. Is this a place for the gauge?
