Sorry I got toooooo busy to even check back. I heard the engine was salvaged but not sure what else or where. The marine guy said it was caused by the hurricane/floods (which big one, I forget now). So at least that part is good news, because I wouldn't want to hear of a DE32 sinking from a voyage.

Any clue where in NC this is being scrapped? I recently purchased a DE32 and am around this area. Would be good to to see if I could find anything usable from it.

I received the following terse note from a broker today.

Sad news about the Downeaster 32 in North Carolina. Major structural damage found and the boat is being scrapped. The motor and battery are being purchased by a prospect in Washington state.

Not sure which named boat this is but I probably have old pictures stored somewhere. Seems like some DE32's need major work these past few years, because of neglect and the past decade's economy.
